Families struggling with their household bills are now eligible for help from the council.
Blackburn with Darwen residents with children or vulnerable adults can now access cash to pay for essential items through the coming winter. The authority has now opened its government financed household support fund for applications. It will help with food, energy and water bills as well the replacement of broken washers, cookers, fridges, and freezers and the cost of boiler servicing and repairs.
it can also help with essential toiletries, sanitary products, warm clothing and blankets. In emergency cases it can be used to support housing costs where existing schemes do not meet exceptionalneed.
