In Year 5 we will be covering a variety of topics:
If you have any questions or concerns then please direct them towards Mr Elliott (class teacher) Or Miss Mears (teaching assistant).
Maths or English homework will be handed out every Friday. Year 5 pupils will be expected to complete and return this before the following Wednesday, however, children can hand in their homework as early as they like! In addition to this, children will be given weekly spellings and multiplications to practice at home. Children will then be tested to see how well they are progressing and identify areas that might need a little more practice.
Reading is extremely important for children in Year 5. The children are expected to read regularly; this should be recorded in their reading record and signed by an adult. Reading records should be brought into school every day, even if the child has not read the previous night. The children's reading books will be changed as and when necessary. The more reading the better as points will be tallied up for our whole school reading challenge, with prizes given every half term to the class with the most regular readers!
Year 5 have PE every Monday and Thursday afternoon. Please could you ensure that your child has a full and clearly labelled PE kit on these days.
We will be using Purple Mash regularly within our school computing lessons. Your child can also access this at home by clicking the link below.
Please visit ClassDojo (link below) for regular updates.
