Year 5

Welcome to Year 5




P.E. is on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please make sure that children have their full P.E. kit in school on these days. In addition to this we shall be going swimming on Mondays in the Spring Term.



Homework will be issued on a Friday. It will consist of a mathematics based task and a written task. In addition to this there may also be spelling or tables to learn. Children are also encouraged to read as often as possible. Please remember to sign children's reading records when they have read.



Summer Term Topic

Life in Ancient Greece


As part of our Summer Term topic, Year 5 are looking at the British value of 'Democracy'. This involves the whole school electing house captains for next year.


Year 5 have been busy writing speeches for the election campaign. Speeches were delivered by the candidates running for election in our school hall. Children will now spend the run up to the election trying to gain support.
