Welcome back! We hope you have had a FANTASTIC summer holiday doing many new and exciting things with your family and friends. This year in Year 4 we have plenty of new learning to do starting with The UK and Europe. After this, we will move onto the Ancient Egyptians, Stone Age to Iron Age and the Vikings & Anglo Saxons. Throughout each topic we will have the chance to take part in a WOW day to enthuse and engage our brains. We will spend time looking into the History and Geography of our topics exploring new knowledge and skills along the way.
This is a reminder that all items of uniform, including PE kit, must be labelled with your child's full name in order to avoid any items being lost.
Homework will be handed out weekly on a Friday. Homework will consist of any of the following subject areas:
- English
- Maths
- Spellings
- Times Tables
Homework should be handed in by the following Wednesday. Spelling sheets should not be brought back into school and should be kept at home to practice.
We will have PE on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please could I ask that all children have their full PE kit in school on these days. Again, please ensure that all items of their kit is clearly labelled.
Home Reading is very important and is fantastic way to improve your child's depth of vocabulary among many other things that will help them on their learning journey. Reading books will be changed daily by the children if they have been completed and signed by an adult. Scores will be collected in class for our whole school reading challenge in which we have the opportunity to win a prize at the end of each term.
