YEAR 3/4W

 

I hope you have had a fantastic summer break filled with lots of exciting adventures. Now its time to focus on our learning. Over the next year we have plenty of fun and interesting topics to cover such as The Romans, The Aztecs, Volcanoes, Earthquakes and other Natural Disasters and South America. 

 

 

Uniform

This is a reminder that all items of uniform, including PE kit, must be labelled with your child's full name in order to avoid any items being lost.

Homework

 

Homework will be handed out weekly, on a Friday. Homework will consist of any of the following subject areas:

- English

- Maths

- Spellings

- Times Tables

Homework should be handed in by the following Wednesday. Spelling sheets should not be brought back into school and should be kept at home to practice.

PE

 

Year 3/4W will have PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Please could I ask that all children have their full PE kit in school on these days. Again, please ensure that all items of their kit is clearly labelled.

Home Reading 

 

Reading books will be changed daily if the reading record has been signed saying that your child has read. Scores will be collected in class for our whole school reading challenge in which we have the opportunity to compete for a mystery prize at the end of each term!

Alongside the website, we also use ClassDojo and Twitter to keep you informed of what is happening at school.

 

            

In our Spanish lessons we have been learning volando - flying, nadando-swimming, trotando-trotting and corriendo-running. We have been making up our own sentences using the new vocabulary.

This is a reading,writing,speaking and listening challenge. The children have to work as a team to read write, listen and say what the sentences are. The team with the most words spelt correctly wins.

We have been learning places. this week we used the sentence starter , En la jungle (in the jungle) with animals and colours.
